August/September, 1977: On these dates in history 42 years ago, His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada visited his disciples for two weeks in London. When Prabhupada came to visit Bhaktivedanta Manor, two months before his passing, he was incredibly weak and unable to walk, due to the poison given to him by his Judas disciples, working for the great sinister Movement (International Jewry) therefore he had to be carried from his personal quarters to the temple room. He wore dark glasses as his eyes had become sensitive to bright lights. Sulochan Prabhu and his godbrother Tirthakara dasa were honored to carry Prabhupada on a palanquin: (essentially a decorated chair supported by two long wooden poles carried by two disciples.)

Tirthakara recalled:

[Begin quote] My remembrance of Sulochan prabhu is that he did a wonderful job dressing Radha-Gokulananda (the presiding deities at Bhaktivedanta Manor) very nicely. Sulochan and I were chosen to carry Srila Prabhupada on a palanquin from his quarters to the temple room during his last visit to Bhaktivedanta Manor in September 1977. Sulochan and I practiced carrying the palanquin in advance before Srila Prabhupada arrived. We were selected because Sulochan and I were about the same height. We transported Srila Prabhupada during two mornings.

The first morning we took Srila Prabhupada down from his quarters to take darshan of the Deities after the Govinda prayers. Prabhupada asked to be carried to his Vyasasana, and so we did. The awkward thing was that the palanquin did not fit facing frontward to the devotees, but only sideways, therefore we felt embarrassed. But Sulocana cleverly pushed the big Vyasasana to the back of the wall, and then we could turn the palanquin around facing the devotees.
The second day, after we both carried Srila Prabhupada back to his room after taking darshan of the Deities, Sulochan showed Srila Prabhupada some pictures of Radha-Londonisvara (the presiding deities at ISKCON London), and Prabhupada nodded in approval. Guru-Kripa dasa—one of the senior leaders at the time—however, was annoyed that Sulochan did this without permission, and when we were dismissed and left Prabhupada’s room, Guru-Kripa started an argument with us in the hallway just outside Prabhupada’s door.

Later, we heard that we weren’t allowed to carry Srila Prabhupada on his palanquin anymore. All I know is that Srila Prabhupada liked looking at the pictures of Radha-Londonisvara, and I could see it was an intimate exchange between disciple and Guru. I was so angry. Such dirty politics.
I went up to Tamal-Krishna to complain, but all he said was we should give someone else a chance as well. Sulochan and I had previously practiced in advance taking the palanquin up and down the stairs, so it worried me a lot for the next carriers. After that I went to Ireland before Prabhupada had left, and I never saw Sulochan again. I was shocked to hear of his brutal murder.
